Dr Patrobas Mufubenga

Patrobas is a qualified medical doctor from Makerere University Kampala, specialized in public health development and epidemiology from Universities of Amsterdam and Emory-Atlanta Georgia. He joined MACIS in 2012 to provide leadership in the critical areas of project conceptualization and review, strategic and scientific writing, as well as editorial and publication works.

Patrobas brings over 20 years of experience in the health sector to the team and has worked at the national level for a period close to 10 years as a national coordinator for different child health programs, in collaboration with other programs like malaria, reproductive health, IMCI, PMTCT/HIV and nutrition. He has delivered several research works and quality improvement initiatives, as well as program evaluations particularly in malaria, child health and reproductive health.

Since 2006, Patrobas has worked as a consultant for major international organizations including WHO/RBM, GTZ, RCQHC/USAID, JHPIEGO/ACCESS, Malaria-No-More, AMREF, MACIS/CORE, World Vision, UPHOLD, Malaria Consortium and NUMAT, building a strong network of contacts in the health and development sector. His sound understanding of health challenges and best practice in the African context is supported by a number of technical missions he has undertaken to Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

Patrobas is a technical member of the Editorial Board for Biomed Central Journal, as well as a visiting lecturer at the School of Public Health, Makerere University Kampala.

Head of Finance and Administration

Hamiat Sengendo Tryphosa

Sengendo is responsible for the proper implementation of financial procedures in MACIS Programmes. She is the Technical focal point for Financial, Administration and Operations. She has over 8 years of experience in Accounting, Auditing and Administration; this will ensure that MACIS develops and maintains sustainable operational processes and systems.

Sengendo has previously worked with Sejjaaka, Kaawaase & Company Certified Public Accountants, Audited NAADS, FINMAP under Ministry of Finance, Electrification Rural Transformation under ministry of Energy, NEMA, NUSAF, Local Government, European Union, Aristoc Booklex. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree of Business Administration in Accounting from Makerere University Kampala, CPA holder and a certificate in Human resource.

USCIP Program Coordinator

Samalie Odoy

samalieSamalie joins MACIS as the Coordinator of the Uganda CSO Immunisation Platform project.  She is a qualified Social Worker, Counsellor and Project Manager with a Masters degree in Management Studies (UMI), BA-SWASA (MUK), PGD-PPM(UMI), PMP (1&2). She has over 20 years experience in managing health programs for local and international NGOs. She has coordinated and nurtured a range of key partnerships and kept sustainable relationships with key stakeholders in international, public and private sectors. Samalie has previously worked with AIDS information Center, Jinja Diocese and Catholic Relief Services/Uganda.  

She will coordinate UCSIP activities, provide a central locus, coordinate communications from UNEPI, platform members and partners, relay updates on national and district policies/activities, act as an advocate for sustainable immunization access and utilization through different fora, participate in fundraising for  UCSIP, ensure that donor  and MOH requirements are met.
